Group And Channel Selection
Several methods, some of which depend on program-
ming, can be used to select a new group or channel.
These procedures are presumed to be starting from the
normal receive display.
METHOD 1: If group selection is programmed to the
SYSTEM/GROUP/CHANNEL knob, se-
lect a group by turning the SYS-
TEM/GROUP/CHANNEL knob to the de-
sired group number position (1-16). The
display registers the new group name on
line two. If the knob is moved to a position
greater than the number of programmed
groups, the highest programmed group
will remain selected.
METHOD 2: If group selection is programmed as the
primary function of

METHOD 3: Press

to enter the group select
mode and follow the selection mode rules
detailed earlier. If group selection is pro-
grammed to the SYSTEM/GROUP/
CHANNEL knob, direct access to groups
will not be available. Presses of

will scroll through different sets of
16 groups each (banks) if more than 16
groups are programmed into the radio.
The groups within each bank are then se-
lectable via the SYSTEM/GROUP/CHAN-
