The MSED/HL950 has two LEDs that indicate status; one orange
colored that shines through the plastic front and one red and green
bi-colored on the rear.
Both LEDs are blinking during the boot sequence (the rear LED blinks
in green) and are stable lit when the booting is done.

After you have connected the appropriate interface and power cables,
you are ready to power up the MSED/HL950.
To power up the MSED/HL950, flip the power switch to ON. The
Power/Status indicators (located both at the front and rear panels)
will start to blink. If you have a terminal emulation program connected,
messages will begin to appear in the program window. When the
Power/Status indicators are lit the diagnostics and boot routines are
completed.
Configuration and software upgrades can be performed remotely
from the WAN using telnet, SNMP and TFTP or locally from a PC
running a terminal emulation program (connected to the CONSOLE
port).
