DHCP Client Default Settings
By default, DHCP client requests the following information from DHCP server:

The DHCP server IP address and subnet mask
•
DNS server addresses. By default, received DNS server addresses are
passed on to the DNS relay and not passed to DNS client. To change
these default settings, use the commands dhcpclient set interfaceconfig
givednstoclient enabled/disabled and dhcpclient set interfaceconfig
givednstorelay enabled/disabled.
•
DHCP server default gateway information. By default, DHCP client makes
use of default gateway information. To change this default setting, use the
command dhcpclient set interfaceconfig defaultroute enabled/disabled.
