The rechargeable batteries used with
the radio can develop a reduced capacit
condition sometimes called the "Memory
Effect". This condition may occur when a
battery is continuously overcharged for
long periods or when a regulary performed
duty cycle alIows the battery to expand
only a limited portion of its capacity. The
battery pack may show a severe decrease
in its ability to deliver full capacity for an
