4 ADJUSTMENTS
This chapter describes each part of the Erin Fingerscreener FS206T that may be modified or
adjusted to insure and improve the efficiency of the machine.
CAUTION!
The machine must be turned OFF and locked
before inspection or adjustments.
4.1 Screen Box
Screen Box can be elevated to 10
°
, 13˚ or 16
°
but must be lowered to 2
°
for transport. (The
lowest position must only be used for transport). To adjust that angle:
-
Remove pressure on the pin by slightly raising lever K.
-
Remove the pin.
-
Raise or lower the Screen Box as required with lever K.
-
Put the pin back on.
Never use or move the machine when a pin is missing.
-
Apply hydraulic pressure on the pin with lever K.
Make sure the cylinder does not support
the Screen Box pressure. This might damage the cylinder.
4.1.1 Fingers Adjustments
Fingers can be moved up to slow down material or down to speed it up. To adjust fingers
angle, unscrew angle adjustment bolts using an impact gun. Because of the Loctite used at the
factory, it might be necessary to heat up the nuts with a torch. Move the fingers up or down
and tighten in place using new nuts (grade 8, ¾ - 16 UNF nylon lock nuts for Grizzly
TM
fingers
and grade 8, 5/8 – 18 UNF nylon lock nuts for Cascade
TM
fingers). Use Loctite number 262 on
all adjustment screws and torque to the following specs: 465 to 470 Nm (340 to 460 ft-lb) for
Grizzly
TM
fingers and 340 to 360 Nm (250 to 265 ft-lb) for Cascade
TM
fingers. Taper fingers are
self-cleaning and individually replaceable. They are available with 50 to 127 mm (2 to
5 inches) openings.
The angle of the fingers (according to an horizontal plan) can be set within the values
indicated in the following table. Refer to the next figures for more details.
