How to hang up the clock case
Fix the case by using the delivered large dowel (8 mm) and the lens head screw on the keyhole
plate on the top of the case back. Under no circumstances should you use a hook. The door of the
case is fastened by magnets, so it has to be fixed with a second screw at the wall. Put the case in
an exact vertical position (use a spirit level and put it at the case top) and mark the second fixing
point (at the wall) through the long-slot, above the bottom of the case. Now take the case from
the upper screw and place the second, smaller dowel (6mm) at the marked position in the wall.
Fix the case again at the upper screw and set it into the exact vertical position.
At last fix the case with the second, small screw through the long-hole to the lower dowel and put
the pendulum scale at the case. Now screw in the four case screws located in the corners of the
clock case until the tips get stuck slightly in the wall.
How to hang in the pendulum
Caution!
Do always hold or carry the pendulum at the free pendulum rod, never at the
adjusting-table or the plate of the barometer-instrument.
To avoid damage of the delicate suspension spring we recommend to insert it into the slot of the
pendulum rod first, hold it in place and then hang the pendulum together with the suspension
spring into the suspension spring block.
The pendulum tip should now point exactly to the "0 point" of the pendulum scale. The factory
setting of the beat adjustment is made in this position.
How to fit the movement
Remove the safety rubber band from the pallet.
When fitting the movement, pay attention to the
driving pin of the pendulum being located at the left
side of the beat adjuster. (s. fig. yellow point)
Hang the steel cord in the support to the right of the
movement.
Place the clockwork carefully onto the two pillars
and screw it on the tight by means of the two
movement holding screws.
How to set the clock in motion
Before hanging the weight into the pulley, make
sure the cable runs in the front groove of the barrel
wheel.
Then hang the weight in the bow of the rope pulley
without bending the steel cable.
Wind the clock with the crank one turn counter
clock wise. Deflect the pendulum until a “tick”, cau-
sed by the drop of the escapement wheel tooth on
the pallet, is audible. Watch the pendulum scale
and note the angular minutes, indicated by the tip
of the pendulum, exactly in the moment where the
“tick” occurs. Now deflect the pendulum to the other side and again note the angular minutes
when the “tick” is audible. It is ideal, when the angular minutes are equal on both sides.
If the pendulum has to be deflected more to the right side than to the left to hear the “tick”,
you can correct this by turning the adjustment screw (see above) on the pendulum rod behind
the movement to the left side.
Stop winding the clock, when the top end of the pulley is about 1 cm below the
dialring.
How to set the moon phase
To set the moonphase, reach behind the dial at the 6 o´clock position and turn the moonphase
wheel clockwise.
Please note:
The moonphase can only be set when it is not in the changing phase.
The moon changing phase lasts approx from 8 pm and 3 am.
