5.11.11. Product Temperature Control (Option) Setup
This screen is for product temperature control option settings. This screen will not be
accessible if the chamber is not equipped with this option. This option allows the
chamber to bring the user product (or specimen) to the desired temperature faster by
varying the “internal air setpoint” based on the desired product temperature setpoint.
This option assures that the product being tested is brought to the desired product
temperature, even in the case of a large load product (where there can be a tendency for
a large temperature difference between the air temp and desired product temp on
systems without any product control.)
1.
Select the Product Temperature Control Setup.
Press the 10 box on the Chamber Configuration screen.
This screen is used for setting a variety of product temperature control parameters.
There is a temp limit that is used when the chamber is cooling and another that is used
when the chamber is heating. There are also tuning parameters that are common to the
cooling and heating modes of the testing. Pressing any of the numeric boxes lays a
keypad over the screen to enable input of the control parameters.
Table 5.7. Product Temperature Control Setup Parameters
Limit
Temperature limit for protection of product. If the calculated
air temperature set value (based on the deviation limits)
exceeds either of the two limits, the set value will be
adjusted so that it does not exceed the high or low limit.
P
This tuning parameter is used to adjust how much the air
temp set value (SV) is adjusted based on the difference
between the product temp set value and product temp
process value (PV). For more adjustment of air temp, use a
large P value; for less adjustment, use a small P value.
Filter (I)
This tuning parameter is used for filtering the amount of
change to air temp SV based on a comparison product temp
SV & PV and also the current product temp PV and the
temp 1 second previously. For more adjusment to air temp
SV, use a small I value; for less adjustment, use a large I
value.
