The formation of bubbles above some of the seals indicates a gas leak. Turn off the gas supply,
tighten all of the seals and repeat the test.
5.
If a part is defective, have it replaced. The appliance must not be put into service until the leak has
been resolved. If the problem persists, contact your retailer or a specialised gas technician.
Changing the gas cylinder
•
Always change the gas cylinder away from any possible source of fire.
•
Do not change the gas cylinder when using the appliance. The control knobs must be in the closed
position “
•
” (stop).
•
Wait for the appliance to cool down completely.
•
The change must only be made outdoors.
•
Do not smoke when changing the gas cylinder.
•
Do not change the cylinder if the outside temperature is above 45°C, or if the cylinder has been
stored at similar temperatures.
•
When the cylinder is empty, have it filled or replaced by an authorised dealer, where your cylinder
will not be filled to more than 80% of its capacity to allow the gas to expand the temperature.

Preparation before cooking
•
Before using the griddle for the first time, wipe the cooking griddle with a solution of water and
washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
•
To prevent food from sticking to the plate, coat it with cooking oil
before each use
.
Warning!
•
Before you start using your griddle, make sure that all of the control knobs are in the
“
•
OFF
” (stop) position.
•
Check that the cylinder/regulator/hose/appliance assembly is not leaking.
•
Make sure that the burners (venturi tube) and/or injectors are not obstructed (e.g.
cobwebs).
•
Check that the supply hose is not damaged or expired, and that it does not come into
contact with sharp or hot parts of the appliance.

To control the flame power, turn the knob anticlockwise.
Switching on the griddle
The
piezo electric ignition
system is integrated into the control knobs.
IMPORTANT: For barbecue models with a hood, light the barbecue with the HOOD OPEN. Never
switch on the appliance with the hood closed.
1.
Make sure that all of the control knobs are in the “
•
OFF
” (stop) position.
2.
Open the gas supply on the gas cylinder or regulator.
3.
Push and turn the desired control knob anti-clockwise until it “clicks”. The burner ignites.
If the burner does not light immediately, return the control knob to the “
•
OFF
” (stop) position. Wait
5 minutes so that the accumulated gas disperses, then repeat the procedure.
4.
Repeat the previous steps to light the other burners.
First use
Light the griddle and let it heat while empty (i.e. without food) for about 30 minutes in the maximum
position (large flame) so that all manufacturing residues are burned away. A slight release of odours and
smoke may occur during this operation: this is normal and will disappear during future use. Then wait
until the appliance has cooled down completely, clean the griddle with a soft, slightly damp cloth and
then lightly oil the cooking surface.
