Check walls of ash collection duct
The walls of the ash collection duct may be white to
brown in appearance. If they are black with soot, either
too much wood was burned at too low a heat consump-
tion, the fire was not lit correctly at start-up or, in very
infrequent cases, the lambda probe gave incorrect
measurement values.

Empty the ash box
Before you empty the ash box, the pellet burner
must be switched off and [Switched off] mode
displayed in its overview window.
If the pellet burner is in heating mode, end it by
pressing the On/Off switch
in the boiler
overview window. The boiler then performs an ember
burnout and switches to [Switched off] mode.
On both sides of the ash box is a tension lock that fixes
the ash box to the boiler. Open both tension locks by
pressing the safety catch in the direction of the arrow.
Fig. 10-5: Opening the latches
Pull the ash box straight out from the front of the boiler.
Fig. 10-6: Removing the ash box
Take off the cover of the ash box by slackening the two
tension locks, and empty the ash box. Check the seal
on the ash box cover to ensure it is in good condition.
Fig. 10-7: Empty ash box, check seal
Check the ash for embers. Never put hot ash into
the waste bin due to risk of fire!
Also check the integrity of the seal on the boiler. If it is
damaged, the boiler can suck in leak air, causing
combustion problems and malfunctions.
