Aluminium, stainless, plastic coated
and cellular rubber handrims: The
distance between the wheel and the
handrim can be adjusted by adding or
removing spacers.
The way in which the user is able to
grip the handrims is influenced by the
handrim’s material and its distance
from the wheel. Friction-coated, cellu-
lar rubber and plastic coated handrims
are available as options.
Cellular rubber/plastic
coated handrims increases
the friction.
It is therefore important to
remember that when stop-
ping suddenly, friction burns
(e.g. blisters) may occur.
Be aware that when pass-
ing through narrow spaces
there is a risk of getting your
fingers caught. There is also a
risk of fingers getting caught
in the spokes.
If there is a risk of the user’s
fingers getting caught in the
spokes we recommend the
use of spoke guards.
