Configuration and Theme Files
Use Paradigm ControlDesigner and ThemeDesigner software applications to create the theme and
configuration that will be used on your touchscreen.
If the touchscreen does not automatically bind when connected, it may require manual loading of
the configuration or theme files. See the
P-TS7 User Manual
for details to access the service panel,
load the media, and access the files for loading.
Exporting Files from LightDesigner
This procedure is recommended for the P-TS7-P (LON model) to expedite loading of configuration
and theme files onto the touchscreen, although this process can be used for both models as
required.
Note:
It is best to store the configuration and theme files to removable media for
manual loading to the touchscreen.
1. From the LightDesigner configuration, select File > Export Portable LCD Files. The Export
Portable LCD Files dialog displays.
2. Select the Portable LCD files for export and click {OK}, and then select a directory location to
save the files, such as removable media. Two file types will be exported, including the
configuration (*.lcdconf) and the theme (*.lcdtheme).
Loading Files to Touchscreen
Note:
If the P-TS7-P or P-TS7-PE are bound to the Paradigm Processor, it will
automatically begin retrieving the configuration and theme file. Press {Cancel} to stop the
transfer if you prefer to manually load the files to the touchscreen.
To reduce commissioning time, ETC recommends using removable media to load
configuration and theme files, especially for LON connected touchscreens (P-TS7-P).
1. Access the service panel and insert the removable media with the configuration and theme
files into the receptacle.
2. Press the [Mode] button on the touchscreen service panel to access the Setup menu.
3. Press the {Setup} button.
4. Press the {Files} button. A keypad displays.
5. Enter the four-digit system passcode and press {Enter} to access the Files menu. If you do not
know the system passcode, contact Technical Services for assistance.
6. Press the {Config} button to load the configuration file(s), or press {Theme} to load the theme
file(s) to the touchscreen.
7. Press {Load From} and choose the removable media source containing the files.
8. Select the file(s) from the list and then press {Ok}.
Note:
If a file with the same name already exists on the touchscreen when loading from
removable media, you will be prompted to either {Cancel} the action or {Overwrite} the
existing conflicting file.
