Using the SM8 with an audio recorder or VCR
If you are using an audio recorder, press and hold down Button Number 2 (approximately 4 seconds) until
the Recorder light comes on; then connect the VCR as shown in the drawing below.
If the SM8 is not going to be used with an audio recorder, press and hold down Button Number 2
until the Recorder light goes off.
Changing SM8 Modes: Switcher Mode or Mixer Mode
The SM8 can be set to operate as a 1-of-8 channel switcher
or
as an 8 channel mixer. In the 1-of-8
mode, only one of the eight microphones can be monitored at a time. In the mixer mode, any combination
of microphones can be mixed together.
To switch between the two modes, press and hold down Button Number 1 (approximately 5 seconds). All
8 of the channel lamps will light if the mixer mode has been selected. If the switcher mode is selected, all
the lamps will go out. The SM8 will remember your last setting and on power up, the SM8 will load the last
setting.

All ETS products carry a one year parts and labor warranty. This warranty does not cover damages as a result of
misuse, improper handling of the unit or exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture. At its discretion, ETS
reserves the right to repair or replace this unit under the conditions of the warranty. If you experience problems with
your equipment call ETS at: 505-888-3923 to obtain a return authorization number. Equipment requiring repair
beyond the warranty period or units that have been damaged or are not covered under the warranty can be repaired
by ETS for a minimal cost under most conditions.
