7. Changing the pump
In order to satisfy the increasingly stringent requirements for hygiene and safety, the
pump in our dispensers is designed as a disposable pump to be changed at regular
intervals – 3 to 4 months depending on usage frequency – even though the service life is
much longer.
Changing the pump at the proper intervals can prevent wear on the pump tubes and the
possibility of bursting. In addition to being very easy to change, the pumps have been
kept sufficiently low-cost that still they present economic advantages over the changing
and cleaning procedures of conventional piston pumps.
Procedure:
Open the dispenser with the key
Turn the pump clockwise (approx. 20°), until the lock releases
Remove the pump, take the dispensing tip out of the holder
Mark the new pump with the installation date, insert it and turn
it anticlockwise until it clicks into place
Insert the end of the tube into the bottle and attach the dispensing tip
Remove the key and close the dispenser
Operate the dispenser (hold hands under the sensor, trigger several
times), until the used media comes out of the pump tip
Dispenser is ready for use
When (re)inserting the dispensing tip please make sure that the
quadratic part (between the two ring-shaped parts) is not tilted and
pushed forcibly into the guiding device. Otherwise the thinner part
of the guiding device may break and so damage the dispenser. When
observing this, the dispensing tip can be inserted easily and without
any effort
Before using the dispenser for the first time or after a longer period of non-use, the
tube can stick together at the position where the rolls in the pump head compress it; this
can be repaired by moving back and forth the visible part of the gear wheel on the back
of the pump head
Use only original roller pumps (patent pending), since only they can guarantee
faultless operation – do not clean or recondition pumps!
The tubes for the 500 ml and 1,000 ml dispensers are of different length: The intake tube
of the 500 ml pump will not reach to the bottom of a 1,000 ml bottle, for example; in the
opposite case, the tube will be too long, but this has no detrimental effect.
A fresh pump can be inserted
immediately; there is no waiting period to observe.
Mark the pump with the installation date
The pump can be changed in less than 30 seconds
