The
°C/°F
slide switch (16) for the temperature unit of the display is located on the rear of the weather station. This
allows you to switch the temperature unit for the display between °C (degrees Celsius) and °F (degrees Fahrenheit).
b) Air pressure unit and air pressure display
Atmospheric pressure is the pressure at any point on the earth caused by the weight of the air column above it. An
atmospheric pressure refers to the average pressure and gradually decreases as the altitude increases. Meteorolo-
gists measure the air pressure with barometers. As the change in air pressure is heavily dependent on the weather, it
is possible to predict the weather by measuring the changes in pressure.
1
Setting the air pressure unit
• Press the
BARO
button (1) when the air pressure values are displayed to access air pressure setting mode. You
can change the unit of measurement for air pressure in the following sequence: hPa → inHg → mmHg
• Press the
BARO
button (1) to confirm your selection.
2
Switching the display between absolute and relative air pressure
You can switch the air pressure display between absolute and relative pressure. The atmospheric pressure at your
location is the absolute air pressure as measured. The relative air pressure is the atmospheric pressure at sea level.
To switch between them, proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the
BARO
button (1) for 2 seconds to switch between absolute and relative air pressure measure-
ment. ‘ABSOLUTE’ or ‘RELATIVE’ is displayed.
3
Set the offset value for relative air pressure.
1. Press and hold the
BARO
button (1) for 2 seconds until the ‘ABSOLUTE’ or ‘RELATIVE’ symbol flashes. The
current setting flashes.
2. Press the Up button (20) or the Down button (21) to select the relative air pressure display.
3. Press and hold the
BARO
button again until the relative air pressure digit flashes.
4. Press the Up button (20) or the Down button (21) to change a setting value. Press and hold the respective
button to quickly scroll through the digits.
5. Press the
BARO
button (1) to save your setting and exit setting mode.
The relative air pressure is preset to 1013 hPa (29.91 inHg). If you change the offset value for relative
air pressure, the corresponding weather displays also change. The relative air pressure is based on the
sea level height. The relative pressure changes according to absolute pressure changes as soon as the
weather station/outdoor sensor has been operated for approx. 1 hour
c)
Weather index display FEELS LIKE → HEAT INDEX → WIND CHILL →
DEWPOINT
• Press the
INDEX
button (7) to display the in-built weather indices outdoors in the following sequence: ‘FEELS
LIKE’, ‘WIND CHILL’, ‘HEAT INDEX’ and ‘DEWPOINT’. Pressing the same button again switches back to the main
display.
