STOPPING THE ENGINE
• Release the throttle lever to allow the engine to run more slowly; this may take a few minutes.
• Set the engine switch to position “O”.
SAWING WOOD
• The tool may only be used to saw wood.
• Do not apply excessive force when sawing wood. Only apply slight pressure to
the tool.
• Be aware of the risk of kickback. This chainsaw is equipped with a chain brake
to prevent kickback.
• If the bottom part of the chain guide gets stuck during sawing or hits a foreign
object, this pushes the saw forwards. When sawing a thick branch, push the
spike firmly against the wood to reduce the tilting effect.
• Choose the direction of fall of the tree depending on the wind situation.
•It is important that the operation site gives the chainsaw operator a safe
footing.
• Cut a notch cut (No. 1), which is a third of the width of the trunk.
• Make a felling cut (No. 2) in the tree on the opposite side to the notch and in
the direction of fall (No.3).
• Inform your neighbours in advance if you are planning to cut down a tree or
cut back branches.
• Always make sure that your footing is secure.
• Take particular care when working on a slope.
Cutting a piece of wood on the ground
• Saw in the middle of the log and against the grain.
Cutting a piece of wood raised off the ground on logs
• Area A: Saw a notch into the first third of Area A under the log
(No. 1). Then complete the cut on the opposite side (No. 2).
• Area B: Starting at the top, saw a notch into the first third of Area
B (No. 1) and then complete the cut from the top (No. 2).
Cutting branches off a tree that is lying on the ground
• Check which side the branch to be cut is on.
• Saw a notch on the side (No. 1) and then complete the cut on the
side (No. 2).
• Twigs/branches can spring back. Take extreme care.
Cutting branches on an upright tree
• Start with an initial cut from the bottom (No. 1) and finish with a
cut from the top (No. 2)
