Before using the chainsaw
• If the chainsaw is subjected to stresses that exceed the scope of normal use
(for example through impact or being dropped), then it is vital to ensure that the
tool is still working perfectly before restarting it. It is above all important to check
that the chain does not rotate in idle mode and that the chain brake engages
when
the front guard is pulled.
• Make sure that the chain and tool are in perfect condition before use.
• Check that the safety throttle is not jammed and that once released, it returns
to its original position.
• Check that the safety devices are in place and are securely affixed to the tool.
• Wear enclosed shoes and long trousers. Never work barefooted or in open
shoes.
• Avoid wearing jewellery, which can get caught in the machine. Tie your hair
back and do not wear loose clothes or a tie.
• To protect against chips and flying objects, please wear safety glasses.
• To protect against the noise of the machine, please wear ear defenders or
earplugs.
• Wear clothes and protective equipment according to regulations. Wear
suitable safety boots with a cut protection coating, non-slip sole and steel
toe-cap. Wear a face guard and make sure that it fits properly. A face guard
does not offer adequate protection for your eyes. Make sure to also protect your
head by wearing a hard hat whenever there is a risk of falling objects.
• Check your working environment and make sure that there are no electric
cables, wires or metal objects that could damage the tool.
• Before starting the machine, make sure that nothing is in contact with the
chain.
• During operation, always hold the tool in both hands.
• The tool must never come into contact with other parts of the body during
operation. The only contact should be your hands, which hold both grips during
operation.
• Remove the protective cover of the chain guide before using the saw.
• IMPORTANT: The machine is supplied without fuel and oil in the engine.
The tool has been assembled and tested at the manufacturer’s factory.
• Fill the tank for the chain oil.
• Fill the fuel tank with the petrol-oil mixture.
