MOUNTING THE SPACE BALL
WARNING!
Risk of injury caused by falling objects
The hoist and the space ball are perfectly matched; only use them together. Mount the devices safely
and expertly to avoid accidental injury or damage. Suspend the space ball in such a way that it will be
out of reach of the audience. Observe all safety instructions on page 18.
WARNING!
Operating conditions
The hoist must not be operated without load. The space ball must be fixed before operation since the
lifting cable could get entangled inside the device and cause malfunctions.
1
Use mounting hardware that is compatible with the structure and capable of bearing the weight of the space
ball and the hoist. Please refer to the “Accessories” section for a list of suitable hardware.
2
If the hoist shall be suspended from the ceiling or high joists, professional trussing systems have to be used.
The hoist must never be fixed swinging freely in the room.
3 Secure the device with a safety bond or other secondary attachment. This secondary safety attachment must
be sufficiently dimensioned in accordance with the latest industrial safety regulations and constructed in a way
that no part of the installation can fall down if the main attachment fails. An appropriate eyelet is mounted on
the device for fixation of the safety bond. Fasten the safety bond in such a way that, in the event of a fall, the
maximum drop distance of the device will not exceed 20 cm.
4 Check at regular intervals to make sure that the space ball is still safely suspended.
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Remove any packing material, then
attach the mounting coupler to the
hoist.
Attach the mounting coupler and the
safety rope to the truss.
For sufficient air circulation, leave 50
cm of free space around the device
and never cover the air vents.
Attach the carabiner to the Space
Ball lug and connect the data cable
with the 4-pin jack. Lock the plug with
the safety ring.
