4. Switch on the input fuses of the UPS units. The UPS units will run in bypass
mode. Adjust the output voltage of each UPS unit separately.
5. Press the
button and hold it for more than 1 second in one of the units. The
system will turn itself on and enter the mains operation mode.
6. Check if the difference between output voltages of the two UPS units is lower than
0.5 V (L1 of the first unit with L1 of the second unit). If the difference is higher than
0.5 V, the system should be checked.
7. If the difference between output voltages is lower than 0.5 V, the output fuses of
both UPS units should be turned on, followed by turning on the main output fuse.
The system will operate normally in parallel operation mode with redundancy.
8. The difference between the lengths of connection cables of the two UPS units
should not exceed 5%.
9. Remember that in case of parallel operation mode with redundancy the power
load of each unit should not exceed 50%. Exceeding this level causes the loss of
redundancy and as a consequence, if one unit fails, the other one will not be able
to take over the full load. Exceeding the 50% level is indicated with a sound and
the display flashing.
10. For turning off the indication of redundancy loss, go to the Settings menu and
uncheck the Redundancy lost alarm. It is then possible to connect receivers with a
higher power load. Remember that if one unit fails, the other one will not be able
to take over the full load and, depending on the load level, the UPS will enter
overload mode, with all its consequences, as with a single unit.
11. Table 6 in the
TROUBLESHOOTING
chapter presents the most typical statuses
and alarms, their expected causes and proposed troubleshooting activities.
