3.7.7.3. Viewing the HD Test Generator Firmware Version

This item is used to display the 5600MSC’s firmware version. When you
press the
SELECT
key, the display shows the software version which will be
something like:
There are two different versions of HD Test generator cards in the
5600MSC. The display prompt will indicate whether your unit has the
7750TG2-HD or 7751TG2-HD card installed.

This item is used to initiate a firmware upload of the HD Test Generator
inside the 5600MSC. When you press the
SELECT
key you are prompted
to confirm that you really want to upgrade the firmware, as this process will
completely erase the Test generator firmware in the unit.
There are two different versions of HD Test generator cards in the
5600MSC. The display prompt will indicate whether your unit has the
7750TG2-HD or 7751TG2-HD card installed.
After you have confirmed that you want to upgrade the firmware, the
5600MSC will reboot into its firmware upload mode. See section 4.2 for a
complete description of the firmware upgrade procedure, and information
about the correct version of firmware you should load.

installed in your unit.

When upgrading the HD Test Generator firmware in the 5600MSC, the unit will not
output any of the signals on its sync or test signal output connectors.
3.7.8. Configuring Engineering or User Operation Modes
This menu item is used to switch between Engineering mode and User mode. In User mode various
menu items can be hidden to simplify the operation of the 5600MSC. In Engineering mode, all menu
items are shown, and
