PLAYLIST COMMANDS
Playlist files are created in Overture Playlist Editor OMM allows the user to build these scripts, which
are compiled as “.ekp” files. Playlist scripts encompass the playlist functionality of earlier releases
(one logo/one animation plus one audio together) therefore they have the same file extension.
A user could create a playlist to bring in media (Media In), wait for a certain amount of time (Wait For),
and then take the media out (Media Out). The combination of commands is defined by the end user’s
selections. Commands can appear more than once in the same playlist.
The following is a list of the playlist commands and a description of their functions:
Command
Description
Media Cue
Loads the specified media on the preview channel only.
Media In
Loads the specified media on the program channel.
Media Out
Removes the specified media from the preview and program channel.
Wait_For
Blocks execution of the next playlist item until the specified period of
time elapses. Time can be programmed in fields, frames or seconds.
For example, if the command stated “30 s 5 fr 1 fi" it would wait for 30
seconds plus 5 frames and one field
Wait For LTC
Blocks execution of the next playlist item until the specified timecode
value has been reached.
Wait_media_in
Blocks execution until the referenced media finishes coming in.
Wait_media_out
Blocks execution until the referenced media finishes going out.
Udt_reload
Sets the referenced time (1 or 2) to its initial value.
Udt_start
Starts the timer counting.
Udt_stop
Stops the timer.
Run_after_reboot
With an argument of “true” will cause the script to run immediately after
boot. It will wait until any referenced media is found (scanned) before
execution begins. This can be used to bring in a logo after a power
failure.
Rewind
Rewind to the start of the script and begin again. This will repeat the
specified number of times (or forever with the argument 0).
Debug
Set to “on” or “off” to make the playlist print to the serial console each
line as it executes.
