INSTALLATION 

 

2.1.4.  Tally Connections 

FAULT TALLY OUT:

 

A BNC connector for output of a SMPTE 269M fault tally.  The output will be 

open circuit when the 8010TM is processing video normally.  The output will be 
grounded when the optional SDI bypass relay is active. 

 

2.1.5.  Colour Reference Connections 

COL’R REF IN:

 

 

A BNC connector used to provide a colour-lock reference for the generator. 

 

2.1.6.  Serial Port Connections 

SERIAL: 

A 9 pin female 'D' connector for connection to the RS-232/RS-422 serial 
communications. See section 5.2.2 for the information on configuring the port for various 
applications. 

 
On the 8010TM this port is configured at the factory for a ‘straight through RS-232 connection to a PC 
COM port. In this configuration it can be used for uploading firmware to the unit or serial remote control.  
Table 2-1 shows the pinout of the serial port in its default RS-232 DCE configuration.
