The
Program-Specific Information
section allows the following information to be set:
•
TS ID:
This field enables the user to enter the Transport Stream ID. A trap will be sent if the
card receives a stream with a different value.
•
Program Number:
This field displays the program number. The user can change the program
number by entering the new value into the program number field.
•
PMT PID:
This field displays the currently decoded Program Map Table Packet ID in decimal
form.
•
PAT Period:
The Program Association Table (PAT), which only appears in PID 0x0000
packets, tells the decoder what programs are in the TS and points to the Program Map Tables
(PMT) which in turn point to the component video, audio and data streams that make up the
program. The PAT period can be specified in this field.
•
PMT Period:
The Program Association Table (PAT) tells the decoder how many programs
there are in the stream and points to the PMTs that contain the information where the parts for
any given event can be found. Parts in this context are the video stream (normally one), the
audio streams and the data stream (e.g. Teletext). Without a PMT the corresponding program
is not decodable. The PMT period can be specified in this field.
•
PCR PID:
This field displays the Packet ID of the PCR of the MPEG-2 program. The value of
the PCR is used to generate a system timing clock in the decoder. This clock provides a highly
accurate time base that is used to synchronize audio and video elementary streams.
