OPERATION
3.8.3. Configuring When There Is No Video Input Present
INPUT SETUP
This menu item determines whether a selected switch will occur if there is no
video present on the selected input.
When it is set to
take
the switch to the input will be made.
When set to
no take
, the router can still be switched remotely even if there is
no input video.
On the SoftSwitch
routers there is an additional mode. When it is set to
black
and the Line synchronizer is turned on, the switch will be allowed and
the video output will be black. When the Line synchronizer is turned off, the
switch will be allowed and the output video will contain everything that is
present at the input.
When set to

, the router cannot be switched remotely to an input that
has no video.

LABELLING THE VIDEO AND AUDIO INPUTS
The X0401 Series Routers provide a simple method of identifying each of the video sources with a 16
character label. The
INPUT LABEL
menu is used to change the default input labels for the video and
audio inputs. You can either input the label text from a text file (see section 3.9.1), or manually update the
individual input labels from the front panel (see section 3.9.2). The chart below shows the items available
in the
INPUT LABEL
menu.
Input Label File
Allows the user to upload and download input labels from a text file
Label Video
Allows the user to label the Video inputs
Label Audio 1A
Allows the user to label the Audio 1A inputs
Label Audio 1B
Allows the user to label the Audio 1B inputs
Label Audio 2A
Allows the user to label the Audio 2A inputs
Label Audio 2B
Allows the user to label the Audio 2B inputs
3.9.1. Uploading/Downloading Input Labels from a Text File
INPUT LABEL
This menu item is used to upload and download Input Label text files with a
terminal program.
Receive File
allows you to upload new input labels from a text file.
Send File
allows you to download the current input labels to a text file.

It is important to make sure that the structure of the text file that contains the router labels is correct or the
router will not accept any of the label definitions. The simplest way to create a file with the correct layout
