4.11 Trim the belt ends
Once the belt is tensioned and you have double-checked
that it is properly routed, you can trim the belt to length.
The loose ends of the belt must not cross the “red line”
shown here, which is the inner face of the hex standoff by
the tensioner on the bottom of the Y carriage.
If both loose ends are already behind this line, go on to the
next step. If the belt ends extend past it, trim them with
scissors or wire cutters.
