Transmit HDLC 2 Buffer Available/Buffer Select
This READ/WRITE bit-field has two functions. When this bit is being
written, it specifies which one of the two Transmit HDLC 2 Buffers
has been loaded for transmission. When this bit is read, it indicates
the next available buffer for transmission. The Transmit HDLC 2
Controller should read the next available buffer to generate the next
outbound HDLC 2 message.
0 = Setting this bit to ‘0’ indicates the transmit message data resid-
ing in Transmit HDLC 2 Buffer 0.
0 = Reading a ‘0’ indicates the next available buffer resides in Trans-
mit HDLC 2 Buffer 0.
1 = Setting this bit to ‘1’ indicates the transmit message data resid-
ing in Transmit HDLC 2 buffer 1.
1 = Reading a ‘1’ indicates the next available buffer resides in Trans-
mit HDLC 2 buffer 1.
N
OTE
: If one of these Transmit HDLC 2 buffers contain a message
which has yet to be completely read-in and processed for transmis-
sion by the Tx HDLC 2 controller, then this bit-field will automatically
reflect the value corresponding to the available buffer when it is
read. Changing this bit-field to the in-use buffer is not permitted.

Transmit HDLC1 Message - Byte Count
The exact function of these bits depends on whether the Transmit
HDLC 2 Controller is configured to transmit MOS or BOS messages
to the Remote Terminal Equipment.
In BOS MODE:
These bit fields contain the number of repetitions the BOS message
must be transmitted before the Transmit HDLC 2 controller gener-
ates the Transmit End of Transfer (TxEOT) interrupt and halts trans-
mission. If these fields are set to 00000000, then the BOS message
will be transmitted for an indefinite number of times.
In MOS MODE:
These bit fields contain the length, in number of octets, of the mes-
sage to be transmitted.

Receive HDLC 2 Buffer-Pointer
This READ ONLY bit-field Identifies which Receive HDLC 2 buffer
contains the most recently received HDLC 2 message.
0 = Reading a ‘0’ indicates the Received HDLC 2 message is stored
in the Receive HDLC 2 Buffer 0.
1 = Reading a ‘1’ indicates the Received HDLC 2 message is stored
in the Receive HDLC 2 Buffer 1.
