top mount sinks are designed to
be installed as a “drop in” via an opening on the
countertop. Therefore, the countertop is normally
installed first. (Figure 1)
Use a level to check that the countertop is
•
reasonably flat.
Verify adequate cabinet clearances to allow
•
installation of plumbing, drain pipes, garbage
disposal, strainer, faucet, etc.
STeP 2 - creATe cuTOuT TeMPLATe
For best finish, a proper template and cutout for
the countertop is recommended.

provides a generic template as a guide only. Use a
pencil to create an accurate outline template.
Place the sink upside down. Use a pencil to create
•
the rim outline. (Figure 2.1, Figure 2.2)
Remove the sink and use a straight edge ruler to
•
create an inner 5/16” setback around the perimeter
of the rim outline. The inner setback cutout line
should be smaller than the rim outline.

Measure the sink outline again to verify proper
•
dimensions before cutting the template for final
countertop cutout.
