To succeed, a
Trace Route
command shall be acknowledged by the
network device within a given delay (Timeout). Typically a
Trace Route
command can fail for the following reasons:
The IP address is unavailable or unknown.
The time allowed to perform the
Trace Route
command is too
short.
The remote device is not supporting ICMP messaging.
The Trace Route results are displayed with the following columns:

: Indicates the attempt number.
Status
: Indicates the status of the attempt as follow:
