Alarms/Errors - Ethernet/Fibre Channel
Errors
Symbol
: A Symbol error is declared when an invalid code-group in the
transmission code is detected. Symbol error is not available for
Ethernet 10G LAN/WAN and for FC 10X interface.
Block
: Indicates the count of error block received in frames. Block
errors are only available for Ethernet 10G LAN/WAN or FC 10X
interface.
FCS
: The number of received frames with an invalid FCS.
Alignment
(only for Ethernet 10Mbit/s and 100Mbit/s interfaces):
Indicates the number of received frames without an integral number of
octets in length.
Jabbe
r (for Ethernet only): The number of received frames larger than
1518 (no VLAN tag), 1522 (One VLAN tag), 1526 (Two VLAN tags), or
1530 (3 VLAN tags) bytes with an invalid FCS.
Runt
(for Ethernet only): The number of received frames that are
smaller than 64 bytes with an invalid FCS.
Undersize
: For Ethernet, the number of received frames smaller than
64 bytes with a valid FCS. For Fibre Channel, the number of received
FL-2 frames smaller than 36 bytes with a valid FCS.
Oversize
(for Fibre Channel only): The number of received FL-2
frames larger than 2148 bytes with a valid FCS.
