4. Push the idler pulley to the left to tighten the belt.

5. Tighten the idler pulley nut and torque it to 30

ft-lb (41 N-m).

6. Push on a span of the drive belt with 20 lb (9 kg)

of force, the belt should not flex more than 1/8
inch (3 mm).

Adjusting the Tine Drive
Chain

1. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop.

2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

3. Lift the front of the unit and support using jack

stands or equivalent support.

4. Check the chains on both sides of the unit for

proper tension. The chains should be able to
move up and down 1/4 inch (6 mm) maximum.

5. Adjust the idler sprocket.

6. Recheck the chain tension and tighten the idler

bolt.

Adjusting the Coring Depth

A coring depth of 2 1/2 inches (63.5 mm) is
recommended, but you can change the depth as
follows:

1. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop.

2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

3. Loosen the nuts securing the wheel stop on the
