13.0 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
ALWAys foLLoW ThE IMPoRTANT sAfETy CoNDITIoNs BELoW :
MAKE SURE THE POWER CABLE IS UNPLUGGED SINCE THE APPLIANCE COULD BE PROGRAMMED TO START.
ENSURE THE APPLIANCE IS COLD IN ITS ENTIRETY.
THE ASHES ARE COMPLETELY COLD.
ENSURE AN EFFECTIVE EXCHANGE OF AIR IN THE ROOM DURING THE CLEANING OF THE PRODUCT.
A POOR CLEANING IS DETRIMENTAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING AND SAFETY.
13.1 MAINTENANCE
For correct operation, the appliance must undergo routine maintenance by a qualified technician at least once a year.
The routine checks and maintenance operations must always be performed by a qualified technician in accordance with the
applicable regulations in force and with the instructions provided in this user and maintenance manual.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE BY THE USER
Routine cleaning operations must be performed with the utmost care according to the instructions, procedures and frequency
intervals described in this user and maintenance manual.
CLEANING THE SURFACES AND COVERING
Never use abrasive or chemically aggressive detergents for cleaning.
The surface cleaning must take place when both the appliance and the coating are completely cold. For the maintenance of surfaces
and metal parts, simply use a damp cloth with water or mild soap and water.
Failure to observe the instructions may damage the surface of the appliance and void the warranty.
CLEANING THE CERAMIC GLASS
Never use abrasive or chemically aggressive detergents for cleaning.
The cleaning of the ceramic glass is allowed only when the glass is completely cold.
To clean the ceramic glass, simply use a dry brush and some damp newspaper dabbed in the ash. If the glazing is very dirty, only use
a specific ceramic glass cleaner (refer to authorized dealer). Spray a modest amount onto a cloth and wipe the ceramic glass. Do not
spray cleaner or any other liquid directly on the glass or on the gaskets.
Failure to observe the instructions may damage the surface of the ceramic glass and void the warranty.
CLEANING THE HOPPER
When the hopper empties completely, disconnect the power supply from the appliance and remove residues (dust, chips, etc.) from
the hopper. When the hopper is clean and free of residues, refill the hopper.

Ashes should be placed in a metal container with a tight fi tting lid. The container should be placed on a non-
combustible fl oor, well away from combustible materials, pending fi nal disposal. If ashes are disposed of by burial
in soil or otherwise locally dispersed, they should be retained in the closed container until all cinders are thoroughly
cooled.
The products of combustion will contain small particles of fl y ash. The fl y ash will collect in the exhaust venting
system and restrict the fl ow of the fl ue gases. Incomplete combustion occurs during startup, shutdown, or
incorrect operation of the room appliance will lead to some soot formation which will collect in the exhaust
venting system. The exhaust venting system should be inspected at least once every year to determine if
cleaning is necessary.
