WEATHER PROTECTION
Read all of Section B and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.
TOP AND WINDSHIELD
The top does not provide protection from roll
over or falling objects.
The windshield does not provide protection from tree
limbs or flying objects.
The top and windshield are designed for weather protec-
tion only.
Clean with lots of water and a clean cloth. Minor
scratches may be removed using a commercial plastic
polish or Plexus plastic cleaner available from Service
Parts.
Transporting
To reduce the possibility of severe injury or
death while transporting vehicle:
Secure the vehicle and contents.
Never ride on vehicle being transported.
Always remove windshield before trans-
porting.
Maximum speed with sun top installed is
50 mph (80 kph).
If the vehicle is to be transported at highway speeds, the
sun top must be removed and the seat bottom secured.
When transporting vehicle below highway speeds,
check for tightness of hardware and cracks in sun top at
mounting points. Always remove windshield when trans-
porting. Always check that the vehicle and contents are
adequately secured before transporting. The rated
capacity of the trailer or truck must exceed the weight of
the vehicle (see GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS for vehi-
cle weight) and load. Lock the park brake and secure the
vehicle using ratchet tie downs.

Rear Support Installation
Tap end caps (item 7) into top of the rear support (items
1 and 2) with plastic faced mallet (Ref Fig. 1) (See Detail
A).
At driver side, align holes in the rear support (item 1)
with holes in seat back support bracket, making sure
that the open end of support faces the front of vehicle as
shown.
Insert bolts (item 3) through washers (item 4) and seat
back support bracket. Place nylon washers (item 5)
between seat back support bracket and rear support.
Secure with washers (item 4) and lock nuts (item 6) as
shown. Finger tighten hardware.
Repeat procedure with rear support (item 2) at passen-
ger side of vehicle.
Front Support Installation
Remove and discard four bolts from the front cowl (See
Detail B).
Place front support (item 8) on the ground in front of
vehicle.
On driver side, place lock washer (item 10) onto bolt
(item 9) and insert bolt through bottom hole of front sup-
port and two washers (item 12). Secure front support to
vehicle at lower hole in cowl. Repeat procedure on pas-
senger side. Finger tighten hardware.
Swing support up into position aligning upper holes.
Insert a spacer (item 11) between front support and
upper hole on each side of cowl. Secure with lock
washer (item 10) and bolt (item 9). Finger tighten hard-
ware.
Sun Top Installation
Position sun top (item 13) onto supports (See Detail C).
At front support, secure sun top loosely with bolts (item
14) and washers (item 15) from above with washers
(item 16) and lock nuts (item 17) underneath. Finger
tighten hardware.
At driver side rear support, secure sun top loosely with
bolts (item 18) and washers (item 15) from above with
washers (item 16) and lock nuts (item 17) underneath
(See Detail D). Finger tighten hardware.
Repeat procedure on passenger side.
Tighten all hardware to 13 - 15 ft. lbs. (18 - 20 Nm)
torque.
