Caring for your firegrate
Storage
If you intend to store your firegrate for
extended periods, please observe the
following directions.
For your safety, burn off any residual fuel within
the burner before storing your firegrate. Do
not store a firegrate while residual fuel remains
inside the burner, this is a fire hazard.
Make sure the appliance has cooled
completely before storing.
Do not store the firegrate wrapped in
newspaper or other paper containing printing
inks etc as the printing inks may transfer to the
body or stainless trim on the firegrate.
For storage, we recommend using the plastic
shipping bag to cover the appliance. The
cardboard packing carton can also serve as
a solid storage container for the firegrate.
Other than cleaning as described in the
previous section, your Ezy Flame firegrate does
not need to be serviced on a regular basis.
However, you should inspect the firegrate and
burner at least once per month during the
main operating season to ensure the burner is
functioning correctly and that the burner fuel
chamber is not leaking.
Under the following conditions, you may need
to have your firegrate inspected or serviced by
a qualified service person.
If the firegrate or burner is dropped, it should
be inspected to ensure that the burner and
firegrate body are not damaged in such a
manner as to impair operation of the damper
control system or, to allow fuel to leak from the
burner fuel chamber.
Do not operate the firegrate if you suspect it
has sustained damage. Contact our service
center to obtain advice on getting repairs.
Servicing your firegrate
Care of high temperature paint
Do not use wire wool pads, scrapers, scouring
materials, bleaches, or harsh abrasive
cleaners on your barbecue. Do not allow salt
and vinegar mixtures or other acidic foods
(such as lemon or tomato for example) to
remain in contact with hi temperature paint
for a long period of time. This will cause
scratching, scoring, corrosion or pitting.
We recommend cleaning the hi temperature
paint with an approved cleaner or a mild
detergent with warm to hot water. Rinse and
dry components thoroughly when finished
cleaning and before using the appliance.
Transporting / moving
If you intend moving the appliance from
one location to another, for example -
moving house - please observe the following
directions.
Ensure the burner fuel chamber is free of
residual fuel. Do not transport a burner with fuel
remaining in the burner fuel chamber.
Ensure the firegrate is adequately packed to
prevent damage to the body and burner.
