13.2.1 Packet Logging
Packet logging is a very useful debugging tool to find out what is
happening on the local network. It is also a powerful tool that can be
abused by the end user to eavesdrop on the activities of other users on
the LAN, and this means that in some corporate environments the
administrator needs to disable the packet logging.
1.
Open the
View
menu and select the
Advanced Mode
option. The
Advanced Mode user interface is opened.
2.
Select
Root
in the
Policy Domains
pane.
3.
Select the
Policy
tab in the
Properties
pane (the middle pane).
4.
On the
Policy
tab, select:
\F-Secure Internet Shield
5.
Select the
Logging
tab in the
Product View
pane (on the right).
This variable normally shows the status of the packet logging,
Disabled
means that it is not running, and
Enabled
that it is currently running on the
host. To disable logging completely, make sure that it is set to
Disabled
,
and select the
Final
check box. Distribute the policy to enforce the
change.
