BEFORE YOU START
First, check the load bearing capacity of your floor
Before installing the appliance, you must ensure that the load bearing
capacity of the floor is equal to the weight of the appliance, as well as any flue
pipes and connec�ons. The weight of the appliance is 84kg approximately
when empty. Remember to also account for the addi�onal weight once the
appliance contains the internal components and fuel.

Check clearance to combus�bles
The minimum clearance to combus�ble materials is 450mm on both sides of
the appliance, 150mm to the rear of the appliance
when additional collar
convector panel is used.
A minimum of 50mm clearance should be le� at
the back and sides of the appliance to allow free air movement and for heat
to enter the room. There should be a minimum clearance around the 5” flue
pipe of 3 �mes the diameter of the flue pipe and 225mm clearance above the
appliance.

Ensure the suitability of your hearth
The appliance should be installed on a minimum 12mm thick, non-
combus�ble hearth. The hearth should extend to a minimum distance of
225mm in front of the appliance and 150mm to each side, measured from the
door of the combus�on chamber. Please refer to document J of the building
regula�ons for further informa�on on hearth requirements.

Inspect your chimney
An exis�ng chimney or a new flue installa�on should be given a visual
inspec�on to check that it is in good order, clear of obstruc�ons and is of a
suitable size and type for the appliance. It is essen�al to first sweep the flue
before fi�ng the appliance or lining a chimney.

Inspect your airflow
In order for smoke to be drawn up the chimney, ven�la�on into the room is required.
Normally, sufficient air will come into a room naturally, however in some modern
passive homes, there may be a need for addi�onal ven�la�on. A chimney requires air
movement to work, which may not be possible if there is an inadequate source of air.
Prior to installa�on, you should ensure you have the correct condi�ons in order to
operate this appliance which is 550mm
