Flue requirements
Suitable flues and flue sizes are as follows:
•
Flexible stainless-steel liner or pipe (to BS715). The flue connector outer collar is
for connection to a 125 mm (5 inch) internal diameter pipe or liner. The inner
collar is for connection to a 100 mm internal diameter pipe or liner
•
The flue must have a positive up draught.
The minimum effective height of the flue system must be 3 meter.
The flue must not be used for any other appliance or application.
When installing a flexible flue liner, it must be fully contained within another flue and
properly supported.
3.3
Debris catcher
The debris catcher Kit (fig. 4.8) is optional and can be purchased from Faber.
For installation see the instruction manual that comes with the Kit.
The Kit consist of a debris catcher (4.8 A), a glass fibre seal (4.8 B). a Warning sticker (4.8
C) and installation manual. The 4” flexible pipe conforming to BS EN 1856-2 (4.8 D), with a
length of 500 mm, has to be purchased separately.
Suitable flues and flue sizes are as follows:

Required flue size: 150 mm – 225 mm square conventional brick flue or 150 mm –
175 mm diameter lined brick or stone flue with a minimum effective height of 3
meters
•
The Debris Catcher shall only be fitted to chimneys that have passed a flue
performance test to ensure that the flue is sound and without leaks (to BS 5440)
•
The Debris Catcher shall only be fitted to chimneys that have been swept if
previously used for solid fuel
•
The Debris Catcher shall not be fitted to chimney’s that are likely to have problems
with condensation i.e. above 12 meters internal chimney’s or above 10 meters
external chimney’s
Always keep in mind that when servicing the appliance, the combustion chamber needs to
be removed in order to be able to check for the presence of debris on top of the firebox
and the condition of the chimney.

For good functioning we advise to have the terminal at the ridge of the roof
