3. Safety instructions
For safe use of these soldering irons, these safety instructions should
be carefully read and followed.
• Usage. Using a unit for applications other than those for which
it is intended, or when damaged, will cancel the manufacturer’s
warranty and liability.
• Inspection of all components before use. Any faulty component
should be replaced by a specialist or the manufacturer.
Faulty repairs may be dangerous for users. Always use genuine
Facom replacement parts.
• Heating. Before switching on, ensure that the tip is correctly fi tted
to the unit. Never let a soldering or modelling tip come into contact
with skin, hair or any other heat-sensitive or fl ammable material. A
heat-resistant worktop is recommended.
• Access restrictions. Make sure that no-one, in particular children,
comes near the soldering iron without your consent.
• Danger of fi re! Before heating a soldering iron, ensure there are
no fl ammable items, liquids or gas containers in the vicinity. When
stopping work, always replace the iron in the correct holder, and
switch off power immediately (not applicable to non-electric units
such as gas irons).
• Never leave a hot iron unattended. Depending on working
temperature, soldering irons take a variable amount of time to cool
down after switching off
• Keep the workspace tidy. Disorder increase the risk of accident.
