Basic safety precautions
This is an EC certified product. Most kitchenware manufacturers recommend applying the fo-
llowing safety measures for domestic use.
Basic safety precautions must always be followed when using pressure cookers.
1.
Read all the instructions.
2. Don’t touch hot surfaces. Use the handles.
3. Pay special attention when using the pressure cooker in front of children.
4. Don’t place the pressure cooker in a hot oven.
5. Take extreme precaution when moving a pressure cooker containing hot liquid.
6. Never use a pressure cooker for any purpose other than that designed.
7. This product uses pressure to cook. Incorrect use may cause burns. Make sure the
cooker is securely closed before operating it.
8. Don’t fill the cooker more than 2/3 its total capacity When cooking food which swells
during cooking like rice and pulse vegetables, do not pass half the capacity when filling.
Overfilling may cause obstruction of the steam exit ducts causing excess pressure.
9. Bear in mind some foods like: apple purée, blueberries, pearl barley, oat flour or other
cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb or spaghetti may form froth, bubbles
and obstruct the pressure control system (steam outlet). These foods must not be
cooked in a pressure cooker.
10. Prior to each use, always check the pressure evacuation valves are free from obstructions.
11. Do not open the pressure cooker until it has cooled down and all the pressure has
been released. If the handles are difficult to move, this means that the cooker still has
pressure inside it. Remove the pressure regulator and run cold water over the cooker
to cool it and reduce the internal pressure. Any pressure that remains in the cooker
may be dangerous.
12. Don’t use the cooker to fry with oil under pressure.
13. On achieving normal operating pressure, reduce the heat, thereby preventing all the
steam creating liquid from evaporating.
14. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
