5. USING WITH SOLID FAT
The following precautions should be taken
when using solid fat:
• Melt the fat in a pan over a low heat.
• Carefully pour the melted fat into the
fryer up to the MAX level mark.
• See section entitled "How to Use your
Deep Fryer".
• When using solid fat left over in the fryer
from previous use, make holes in it with a
fork, taking care not to damage the
element as you do so.
• Set the thermostat to 170º, leave to heat
for a minute and then return it to "0".
Repeat this operation at intervals of a few
minutes until the fat is completed melted.
In this way, you will avoid the generation
of excessive heat which may damage the
element.
element from overheating (see section
entitled "Using with Solid Fat").
• Do not use the deep fryer with little or no
oil/fat. The oil/fat level should be
between the minimum and maximum
levels indicated in the pan. Before
switching the fryer on, make sure that the
oil level is correct.
Thermal safety switch
• The fryer is equipped with a thermal
safety switch which disconnects the
appliance in the event of overheating.
This generally occurs when there is little
or no oil or fat in the pan. Overheating
can also occur when melting solid fat.
If the thermal switch is triggered and the
power supply to the appliance is cut off,
proceed as follows:
• Unplug the fryer and wait for the oil or fat
to cool.
• Use a small screwdriver to press the
thermal switch located at the bottom of
the control panel. The fryer can then be
switched on again and used as normal
