• Turned the temperature selector (3) to
the minimum position and the steam
control (7) to the dry ironing position
• Unplug the appliance and empty the
water tank.
• Wait for the iron to cool and store in a
dry place, in an upright position.
10. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Unplug the iron and wait until it has cooled
before cleaning.
Clean the exterior and base with a damp
cloth.
Do not use abrasive substances, vinegar
or decalcifying products to clean the iron.
In order to prevent scratching, do not iron
over hook and eye fastenings, zips or
metallic buttons, etc. and do not place the
iron on metallic or rough surfaces.
Maintenance
The iron has a built-in anti-lime
mechanism which reduces lime deposits
and prolongs the life of the appliance.
It also has a self-cleaning button which
should be used at least once a month in
order to prevent the build-up of minerals
which may damage the steam chamber. To
use this feature, proceed as follows
11. SELF-CLEANING (Fig. 8)
• Fill the water tank, plug the iron in and
turn the temperature selector to ‘MAX’.
• Wait until the pilot light switches off and
on 2 or 3 times.
• Turn the temperature selector to ‘MIN’
and unplug the iron.
• Hold the iron in a horizontal position
over a sink or basin and press the self-
cleaning button. Hold the button down
in order to enable steam and boiling
