3. The LARYVOX
®
base plates should be warmed up for 3 minutes before use by holding
them between the palms of the hands in order to optimise the adhesive properties and to
facilitate adaptation to the affected area of skin ➊.
4.
Lightly tear the perforation of the protective film approximately 1 cm apart ➋.
5.
Remove the large section of the protective film ➌.
6. Position LARYVOX
®
Tape Convex vertically with the adhesive surface on your neck so
that the lower edge of the central opening is aligned at the same height as the lower edge
of the tracheostomy ➍. Smooth this area with your finger to ensure that the base plate
is positioned correctly.
7.
Now remove the other section of the protective film ➎ and smooth the area with your
finger ➏.
8.
To ensure optimal fixation and to avoid air enclosures, carefully stroke the entire tape
surface with your fingers for 5 minutes after attaching the tape to the skin.
9.
Optimal skin attachment is achieved after 20 minutes. Only start inserting the filter
cassette when this time has elapsed. This prevents unwanted air enclosures between
the base plate and the skin.
10.
To remove a filter cassette, fix the LARYVOX
®
Tape in CONVEX position with 2 fingers
➐ and carefully take out the filter cassette in order to achieve a long wearing period of
the tape.
11. To remove the LARYVOX
®
Tape CONVEX, carefully grip an adhesive tab. Carefully peel
this off from one side, if necessary with OPTICLEAR
®
(REF 33500) ➑.
CAUTION!
Do not use creams that contain fat! Otherwise, secure attachment of the tape is no
longer ensured.
