MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, switch off the unit by unplugging from the wall socket, or
if connected directly to the mains, switch off at the isolator switch.
I.
REGULAR CLEANING
Use a soft cloth moistened with mild soapy water.
Never use metal
pads, strong cleaning detergents such as “Handy Andy”, abrasive
materials or brushes to clean the unit.
Always ensure that you use
certified stainless steel cleaners to avoid rust and rust stains
II.
MONTHLY CLEANING OF THE GREASE FILTER (ALUMINIUM)
Clean the filter monthly to prevent fire hazards due to oil build up.
The grease filter collects oil, so its cleanliness directly affects the
extractor’s efficiency.
If not cleaned regularly, the grease build up
will block the air from flowing through and thereby affect the suction
rate of the extractor.
Clean it by removing from the extractor and submerging into hot
soapy water and giving it a very gently clean with a cloth.
III.
ANNUAL REPLACEMENT OF THE CARBON FILTERS
This only applies to extractors which are recirculating the air back into
the kitchen space (not ducting outside).
Charcoal filters need to replaced once a year by purchasing at
www.appliancespares.co.za
.
IV.
BULB REPLACEMENT
1. Switch off the unit and unplug.
2. By using a sharp object, wedge the sharp point between the
LED downlight and the body of the extractor in order to pop out
the downlight fitting.
