“STORAGE” command index
The TCP Storage is an additional TCP buffer that collects data before it is sent. This
reduces transmission cost and enables to send the information quickly to the
connected TCP server.
Currently the TCP storage supports two operation modes:
Manual mode (
default
)
If this mode is selected, the TCP storage has to be dispatched manually (i.e.
you can specify when to send stored information via TCP)
Automatic dispatch
This mode allows the system to dispatch data automatically inside storage
whenever it is used up.
The operation modes as well as the size of the TCP storage are accessed using
parameter in chapter
Note:
All information transmitted via TCP storage will be sent exactly in the way you
have specified it. To ease the server-based readout processes of this data, it is
recommended to add additional
„identification“
characters. See further notes inside the
command
„AddProtocol“
below.
Such identification characters allow you to distinguish easily between textual
„AddProtocol“
and binary data (generated by
„AddRecord“
).

buffer
Command syntax
$PFAL,TCP.Storage.Dispatch
Examples
$PFAL,TCP.Storage.Dispatch
Responses
-
Command description
This command moves the contents of the TCP storage to the outgoing TCP buffer.
This assures a consistent data transfer via TCP. After the data has been appended
to the outgoing buffer, the storage will be cleaned. New data can be added.
Parameter description
none.
3.2.6.2.2
TCP.Storage.Clear – Clears TCP Storage
Command syntax
$PFAL,TCP.Storage.Clear
Examples
$PFAL,TCP.Storage.Clear
Responses
E.g
$TCP storage cleared
Command description
This command clears the contents of the TCP storage. Use this command to discard
unwanted information and empty the TCP storage completely (without sending its
data away).
Parameter description
none.
