General Safety Information for Speaker Systems
Mounting systems should be used exclusively with the
loudspeaker systems authorized by the manufacturer
and the mounting accessories mentioned in the
installation instructions. The installation instructions
from the manufacturer should always be followed. In the case
of incorrect installation or the use of non-approved mounting
accessories, the load cannot be guaranteed and no liability is
assumed by the manufacturer.
Should changes be made to the speakers, installation accesso-
ries, connection and fastening elements or lifting equipment
and slings, the load carrying viability of the system can not be
guaranteed and no liability is assumed by the manufacturer.
Repairs made to safety relevant components may only be under-
taken by the manufacturer or authorized personnel; otherwise
the operating authorization is void.
Installation must be carried out exclusively by
qualified personnel and exclusively at assembly
points with sufficient load-bearing capacity, while
also conforming to local building regulations. The
mounting materials (screws, dowels etc.) prescribed by the
manufacturer in the installation instruction must be used.
Bolted connections must be secured against loosening through
appropriate measures.
Fixed or mobile installations (in this case speakers
incl. mounting accessories) must be secured with
two independently acting safety mechanism against
falling. Loose fittings or components and parts that
become detached must be able to be collected by appropriate
equipment. National Regulations must be observed with the
use of connection and installation elements as well as lifting
equipment and slings. With regard to the assessment of safety
precautions, the results of dynamic loads (jerk forces) are to be
taken into account.
The maximum load capacity is to be observed with
stands. Additionally, please note that stands are
constructed and approved to carry the load in the
structural centre. Stands must be placed upright on
solid and stable foundations. Stands must be secured additio-
nally by suitable measures, if for example:
> the foundation surface does not allow for a stable stand.
> the height restricts the stability.
> exposure to strong winds is expected
> the possibility exists for the stands to
be knocked over by people.
Special measures may also be required as a precaution against
endangering spectators. Stands must not be placed in escape
routes. In the case of stands being placed in roads, regulations
concerning the width of the road as well as the appropriate
closing off of the road with the correct signage thereof must be
followed. Lifting, moving and placing back down exposes one
to risk. To this end, appropriate tools should be used. In this
case, national regulations must be followed.
During installation, protective clothing should be
worn and equipment used at all times (especially
head protection, gloves and safety shoes) and only
suitable lifting equipment (ladders, scaffolding) should
be used. The responsibility for this lies solely with the installer.
Professional loudspeaker systems are capable of
producing sound levels high enough to cause hearing
damage. Even exposure to seemingly mild and
harmless sound levels over prolonged periods of time can cause
permanent hearing damage (from 95 dBA SPL)! Therefore we
recommend that anyone who is exposed to high sound levels
to wear professional hearing protection (ear plugs or capsule
headsets).
