Hitch Assembly

7420 Models

Align the right and left hitch tubes (Item 1) [Figure 
7]
 with the welded sleeves on the main body. 

Slide the tubes into the sleeves as shown, with 
the end brackets facing up. Each tube has two  
mounting holes, to be used depending on the 
tractor. 

Attach each  tube using one 3/4” x 4-1/4” pin and 
hair pin clip. 

Bolt the top hitch tube (Item 2) [Figure 7] to the top 
of the main frame. 

Attach the top pin using the same mounting hole 
as the left and right pins. Use one 3/4” x 4” hex 
bolt, flat washer, and lock nut.  

Align the left and right hitch arms (Item 3) [Figure 
7]
 with the  inside brackets on the hitch tubes.

Attach each hitch arm with a 7/8” x 2-1/2” hex bolt 
and lock nut.

PTO Shield

Bolt the PTO shield (Item 1) to the top of the gearbox 
assembly using 1/4” lock nuts, flat washers, and 
hex bolts (Item 2) [Figure 5]

Insert a 3/16” cotter pin through the hole in the 
shield and through the  hole at the bottom corner 
of the gearbox. Hook the spring to the cotter pins 
to hold the shield down.

8420G Models

Remove the two 1/2” hex bolts and washers (Item 1) 
from the gearbox plate. Install the PTO shield (Item 
2) [Figure 6] using the same bolts and washers.

Insert a 3/16” cotter pin through the hole in the 
shield and through the  hole at the bottom corner 
of the gearbox. Hook the spring to the cotter pins 
to hold the shield down.
