Setting End Shield and LH Rear Blade
The LH end shield and adjustable LH rear blade are
designed to eliminate any trench that may be caused
by the rear LH end blade. The end blade on the LH rear
row of blades cuts the soil and throws the soil
towards the center of the disc, which may leave a
trench depending on soil type.
Figure 150
The LH rear end blade is adjustable by loosening the
blade arm.
The blade can be moved up or down by 38 mm (1-1/
2") as desired.
Adjusting the blade up will throw less soil leaving less
of a trench.
Adjusting the blade down will throw more soil which
may result in a larger trench.
Figure 151
move the soil coming off the last front blade and feed
the soil into the void left from the last rear blade.
Loosen the four 5/8” bolts (2) on the end shield tube
(3) and slide the end shield forward or back in slots.
To adjust the end shield up or down, attach a strap
and lifting device to the end shield tube assembly.
Remove the four bolts (2) and adjust the end shield
tube up or down by moving the end shield mount tube
to the desired holes.
Set the end shield to run just above the ground using
the bottom of the blade as a reference point and the
depth the blades are being set to. The fore-aft position
of the shield should cover at least three quarters of
the rear blade.
