D.4 Seeding
Double disc grain drills are designed for seeding in a
straight direction on a field. Therefore, take care to not to
maneuver when the coulters are in contact with the
ground. Otherwise physical damage or loss of seeding
quality may occur in your grain drill.
Before starting seeding, determine how to start, in
which direction you will seed and your tracking
points.
As is known, seeding is the most difficult application to
compensate for in agricultural activities. Therefore,
please pay due attention to the application.
When seeding with double disc grain drills, cushioning is
implemented firstly as such in pneumatic (pneumatic
corn/beet/sunflower) precision seeding drills. After the
cushioned seeding, seeding is completed by coming
and going in a certain direction and parallel to the initial
route.
This seeding method applied by returning which offers
advantages such that no unseeded field remains, rows
distribute equally and uniformly is also appropriate for
seeding with tracking.
In seeding with tracking, the row is manually controlled
between the first two rounds during cushioning.
It is recommended for cushioning seeding to be
implemented in at least 4 rounds and ideally 5 rounds
since your grail drill is towed and given the tractor
maneuver capability.
When seeding with FDD 3000, cushioning track is left at the
3
rd
return for a tracking of 15 meters (1 in 5 passages).
Then 2 more rounds are taken and the 5-
round cushioning will be completed.
Following cushioning rounds that are implemented as
described above, seeding by touring on a straight line is
started by switching the tracking system to 1
st
row
manually. After this point, no intervention is necessary
unless otherwise is directed in the tracking control
display. Device operates automatically in coordination
with marker.
