D.1.2. Maintenance of Variable-Speed Transmission
D.1.2.a. Lubrication Replacement of Variable-
Speed Transmission
The cams operating in the variable-speed transmission
are operated inside oil bath to avoid wearing.
Therefore, the oil inside the transmission must be
checked and replaced in certain periods.
The oil of the transmission is replaced as follows:
Note:
The grain drill must be in parallel to the ground
before the procedure.
WARNING:
The transmission oil capacity is 1.5 L and
following lubricators must be used for working environments;
90 for hot weather conditions
80 -W90 for cold weather conditions.
1. Step:
Remove the drain plug at the bottom of the
transmission.
Note:
Once the drain plug is loosened, the old oil inside
the transmission will start draining. Thus, it is
recommended to keep a container to collect the waste
oil before this step.
2. Step:
Once all of the oil in the transmission is
drained, mount and tighten the drain plug.
3. Step:
Remove the
filling plug
on top of the
transmission and mount a funnel in suitable size
to the slot of the plug.
Note:
The filling hole is narrow so that it does not allow
free filling (pouring). It is strongly recommended to use a
funnel for a proper filling.
4. Step:
Fill oil in the transmission up to the
level sight
glass
level.

Note:
The oil in the transmission is checked via level
sight glass when the machine is parallel to the ground.
Both air gap and transmission oil should be visible from
the level sight glass. If not, operation must be stopped
and oil must be completed.
Besides the aforementioned points, the moving parts
such as the platform hinges, cover lock mechanism, tow
bar connections are lubricated with suitable lubricators
when necessary.
