INTERNAL LIGHTING
The Internal Lighting turns ON & OFF at certain times based on either a TIME CLOCK setting or a
SUNRISE/SUNSET setting; the user can configure to use either Modality.
TIME CLOCK settings occur at a fixed User entered time to turn the Internal Lighting On and Off in the
morning and On and Off again in the evening.
SUNRISE/SUNSET setting is calculated mathematically by the ChickenMaster PRO based on the Latitude and
Longitude of the user’s current geographic location.
The SUNRISE/SUNSET setting is configured by using a DAYLIGHT LENGTH REQUIREMENT (DLR) Period, which
is normally around 15 Hours, this is user adjustable.
Day Light Length Requirement (DLR) Functionality:
Example:
If the DAYLIGHT LENGTH REQUIREMENT (
DLR
) is set to 15 Hours and Sunrise is calculated to occur at 07:00
and Sunset at 19:00 this means that the period of actual daylight is only 12 hours.
Therefore, with the
DLR
set to 15Hrs, minus the 12Hrs of Actual Day Light Length means that 3 Hours of
Artificial Lighting would be required to achieve the
DLR
of 15Hours.
The 3 Hours of Artificial Lighting would be equally divided to have 1.5 Hours of Artificial Light in the morning
and 1.5 Hours of Artificial Light in the evening.
Based on the example above the AM Morning Lights would turn ON at 05:30 and OFF at 07:00(Sunrise) and
the PM Evening Lights would turn ON at 19:00(Sunset) and OFF at 20:30
The result is 3 Hours of Artificial Light plus 12 Hours of Actual Daylight equalling the 15 Hours of Day Light
Length Requirement (
DLR
).
To avoid the lights from switching ON for small amounts of time the minimum ON time is capped at 10
minutes before Sunrise and 10 minutes after Sunset.
