Mechanical Safety

Only replacement parts authorized by FARO may be used according to the instructions obtained from
FARO. Do not use parts which have not been supplied or recommended by FARO.
Take care that the vents of the devices are not blocked when they are switched on.
Data Safety
We strongly recommend that you do not connect the mobile PC with the Internet
. The Mobile PC runs
on a version of Windows 10 that does not allow updates or patches, and which does not have a
functioning firewall. We prevent post-factory changes to ensure that nothing in the operating system is
changed that could have an effect on the accuracy or function of the Freestyle 2 scanner. This means that
if security holes are discovered in Windows after Freestyle 2 leaves the factory, they will not be fixed on
the Mobile PC, and thus connecting the mobile PC to the Internet could leave the mobile PC vulnerable
to malware or hackers. Use USB devices with caution and scan them with your desktop PC virus scanner
before you connect them to the mobile PC. Never connect to the Internet with your smartphone while it
is attached to the handset via USB tethering.
