6.3.1.2 Scan Area
Angular area: The size of the area to be
scanned, both horizontally and vertically.
Scan angle areas may be changed by keying
in the required scan range.
Resolution: The requested resolution. Can
be one of 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/5, 1/8 or 1/10
Noise
Compression:
The
requested
compression ratio. For example, a scan
taken in ¼ resolution with 2x compression
will have the same amount of data as a scan
in 1/8 resolution, but with reduced noise
level.
Size: Shows the size of the scan in points.
Horizontal x Vertical. The vertical size may
only be changed by setting a new resolution
or by changing the scan area angle. It is
recommended to leave the horizontal size
untouched, in order to get a 1:1 points'
ratio.
Dependent on the resolution selected and on the laser power, a minimum distance
has to be observed to prevent eye damage, if the laser beam is observed directly
without laser safety glasses.
